Tips For Nail Techs: Getting Ahead For 2020
Are you prepared for success in 2020? A new decade brings with it plenty of new opportunities, so make sure you’re ahead of the game (and ahead of the nail techs in your area) before you enter the New Year.
Our simple business tips for nail techs will help you get set for another great year in business.
Assess Your Salon Set-Up
What does your current set up look like – does it need a re-vamp? You’ll have plenty of gel polish bottles to store, so our large table stand is a great way to keep your colours on display for your clients to easily choose their shade.
You can also store Colour Books in the salon to make sure your clients can see what the shades would look like on their nails. We can create your own bespoke colour chart using all the Bluesky gel polish colours you stock.
If you’re a mobile nail tech or are often on the go, our Professional Nail Case can store up to 28 of your 15ml gel polish bottles. It even has storage space for your prep tools and nail lamp, so you can always take what you need with you in one handy carry case.
Create A Social Media Plan
Sharing your work on social media can be a great way to gain new clients, as well as turning clients you’ve only seen once or twice into regulars by promoting your services and offers.
Set aside time to update your social media pages with images of your latest nail designs for your clients, any offers you have running and general updates. You can batch create the content and set yourself a reminder to post something new, or you can use a free scheduling tool such as Buffer to schedule them all in one go.
Tip: Tag your location in each image so potential clients know where you’re located.
Work On A Reviews Process
Gathering reviews from happy clients is a simple and effective way to ensure new clients keep coming in! Set up a process whereby you ask clients for reviews, especially your regulars and any super happy clients you strike a great relationship with.
By asking clients to leave a review on your Facebook page, not only are you able to share all your great work with everyone, but it’ll be backed up by excellent reviews too!
Tip: If you’re struggling to get people to leave reviews or aren’t sure how to ask, using a review incentive such as a certain amount off their next manicure/pedicure can really help.
Never Stop Learning
“An investment in knowledge pays the best interest.” And whether you’re investing your time, money or both into expanding your knowledge as a nail tech, you’ll be sure to reap the rewards.
Take a look at tutorials on YouTube for different nail designs if you’d like to expand your nail art skills. Take a course in nail extensions if you’re looking to add this skill to your repertoire. Follow top nail techs on Instagram to get an idea of what their clients are asking for to give your fresh ideas for your own clients.
There are so many recourses available – especially free ones – that you can easily expand your skills in 2020.
