Get The London Fashion Week Look With Bluesky Gel Polish: Part 2

Haven’t seen part one yet? In our first London Fashion Week blog, we take you through two designs so you can get creative with new colours and nail art designs for your clients!

We took to the runway at this year’s Spring 2020 London Fashion Week, creating nail designs to complement Paula Knorr’s stunning SS20 Collection. You can create the LFW Look from home by shopping our collection filled with shades and trends from the show.

We’ve also put together step-by-step guides for two more of the designs we created from the show – ready to get creative?

Shine In Chrome

Bluesky Gel Polish - Chrome Nail Art Design for London Fashion Week

We added a hint of shimmer to a black gel polish to create this stunning LFW look. You can re-create it for your clients by using a similar pairing or by choosing one of our dark metallic shades.

To create this look, follow these steps:

  1. Apply our Bluesky Base Coat to the nails, curing for 60 seconds LED/2 minutes UV.
  2. Take Blackpool and apply a thin coat to the nails, curing for 60 seconds LED/2 minutes UV.
  3. Add 1-2 more coats of Blackpool, curing each time.
  4. You can now either use a chrome power over the top of the black gel polish, or take a light silver glitter and apply a thin coat. Cure for 60 seconds LED/2 minutes UV.
  5. Finish with our Bluesky No Wipe Top Coat, curing for a final 60 seconds LED/2 minutes UV for that ultra-shine finish.

A Glitter Waterfall

Bluesky Gel Polish - Glitter Nail Art Design for London Fashion Week

While Paula’s show gave us a taste of the SS20 trends, glitter gel polish really is a staple all year round.

To create this look, follow these steps:

  1. To create your own glitter waterfall, begin with Bluesky Base Coat and apply to the nails. Cure for 60 seconds LED/2 minutes UV.
  2. Take gel polish shade Nude Pink and apply a thin coat. Cure for 60 seconds LED/2 minutes UV.
  3. Apply 1 more coat of Nude Pink, curing for a further 60 seconds LED/2 minutes UV.
  4. Take a pink glitter – either Pink Gold or Fairy Dust. Beginning at the tip of the first nail, apply the glitter keeping the coat thicker at the top and thinner as you make your way down the nail to create an ombré effect. Stop when you get to the middle of the nail.
  5. Tip: You can use a nail art brush to spread the glitter down – you may find it easier to work with.
  6. On every other nail, repeat the process. On the remaining nails, create the glitter ombré effect but start at the bottom of the nail instead. Once happy with the design, cure for 60 seconds LED/2 minutes UV.
  7. Finish your design by applying Bluesky No Wipe Top Coat, curing for a final 60 seconds LED/2 minutes UV for that ultra-shine finish.
